While CNN just posted a story here about how the new Mac Tablet may not be the gadget of the future, we at Wizard HQ in midtown Manhattan are pretty excited. Here’s a few things we want to see on the tablet—expected to be announced around the end of January—that’ll make it a must-have device for comic book fans after the jump.

• Direct downloads from Marvel
Marvel’s digital comics initiative is the kind of forward thinking, creative idea that makes the House of Ideas the gold standard of comic publishers and if we can set up out Mac Tablet to automatically download our favorite comics every week, we wouldn’t mind all those delays on the 7 train in the morning.

• The Resurrection of Magazines
We love print. Period. We love the smell of old comics, we adore the feel of paper between our fingers, we can’t get enough of the anticipation of turning a page for the next line, word balloon or image. But we know you young yahoos can’t get enough of reading novels on your Kindle and checking news or reading comics on your iPhone. But a new Mac Tablet, could offer the best of both worlds as digital magazines on a touch screen would allow readers to flip through pages or even go more in depth as you can see in this video from Time.

• Video Games
Playing Call of Duty on the iPhone is fun, but not nearly as deep or rich as the console version—but imagine full versions of games you could play on your Mac Tablet.

• All Our Media in One Place
We already have a ton of comics, the most recent season of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and all of our favorite music on our iPhone, but with a Mac Tablet stacked with power, memory and a bigger screen to view it all on—combined with a relaunched and streamlined Apple TV initiative—this may become THE entertainment device of next year at Wizard HQ.

• A Creative Outlet
Ever since we sat down in front of our first Apple computer in 3rd grade, Macs have been THE creative persons computer. We used them in middle school to put out the school paper and play Oreagon Trail. We used them in high school and college for everything from flyers for parties to the yearbook. Whether it’s jotting down a quick note on an idea, sketching out a concept, recording a voice memo or even constructing some funky beats for our solo breakout project, the Mac Tablet may be the best thing to happen to the creative community since Andy Serwin.
